Two LaRue County food pantries received greater than 1,200 kilos of food donated in the course of the month-lengthy food drive organized by the board. In breaking with longstanding tradition because of COVID-19, the Lincoln Days Celebration board held a food drive in lieu of its annual luncheon to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday in February. More than a half-ton of food was donated to help LaRue County food pantries. There are still a few more slots open for Tuesday’s drive via food distribution at Lernerville Speedway. Volunteers and organizers distribute food from the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank at Alameda Park.
